Yesterday at work during a period when I was filling in for the receptionist, I got into a conversation with one of the guys teaching an Excel class on site. He was just asking me when I started, and which position I was filling. I explained that I was sort of just helping out as a temporary, but that I have worked there in the past a couple of times as well, the first time being about ten years ago. He looked at me and said: “Ten years ago?” I realized that it really sounds like a long time, but I confirmed that yes, it was about ten years ago when I was 18 years old. I told him that I was 28 and he said that it was kind of shocking to him, because I don’t look “that old.” Eh. Thanks?
I guess I should just take it as a compliment, instead of finding some way to twist it into a negative thing, but I can’t help it. I really feel like I’m getting old, and it’s freaking me out.
Speaking of work, I am actually off tomorrow, however I have so many errands to run and things to get done with my freelance work that I might as well just go to bed early tonight and plan on making an early start of it tomorrow.
