Drying out

April 29, 2008

You know, they say that flooding can be the most devastating kind of natural disaster, both in terms of financial and material destruction. I’ve witnessed some of this destruction in what I would say is minor flooding in my area over the past several years. Regardless, there is always so much cleanup involved that it probably seems overwhelming for those involved. In fact, I’ve seen so many sad stories on the news just this week as people in neighboring states are dealing with cleanup after some severe storms and tornadoes. Sort of by chance, while surfing the internet (as usual) I happened upon a really interesting web site with some good information about some do it yourself water damage restoration, targeted for those people struggling to pick up the pieces after a flood has damaged their home. The site details a lot of useful information including tips on the kinds of supplies you will need, as well as methods for speeding the drying process in your home. I’m certainly thankful that flooding is not something that we are dealing with here at this time, but it’s good to know that there are guides out there to help, just in case.
